True. And if can play, he still starts for me.

1. We are in a raging pandemic getting way worse than ever before.
2. Playing college sports presents an air of normalcy and everything is fine that paints a false picture of reality and belies the seriousness of it.
3. The quarantining of players who test positive or have close contacts is going to vary wildly between teams.
4. False positive tests can incorrectly and unfairly keep players out, like this mind-blowing Davis Mills case.
5. When you have to cancel as many college games as they have, it's a pretty clear indication they shouldn't be playing.
The NFL has it right. If you decide to play, power through everything unless there is a major team outbreak. This one case leads to quarantines that make playing games impossible or with significantly limited personnel, is silly.
Agree with much of this. But there is nothing wrong with giving people a “sense of normalcy”. It’s helpful from a mental health perspective. Lord knows we’ve had plenty of sh-t thrown at us. And it’s fleeting anyway; as soon as you turn the TV and see cardboard cut outs in the stands you lose the “normalcy”. The seriousness of this is beaten into us every day. Constantly. Understandably. But it’s exhausting. So a little “normalcy” for 3 1/2 hours is a good thing.
Mostly I think that once they decided to play – they simply play. That means you’re going to have to put up with some of the Covid cases and play with what you got. That’s essentially what the NFL has done.
