I just read an article about Los Angeles County.  The Director of Public Health for the County, Barbara Ferrer, wants to cancel all sporting events for three weeks starting next week.  Apparently she wants to cancel them even if they don't permit any fans.  The Board of Supervisors would have to approve it and it wasn't made clear what their position is other than they take their cues from Ferrer for Covid related policy.

If this policy were to pass I suppose UCLA and USC would have to scramble for venues outside LA County.   I have my doubts the WBB season gets very far along before it is postponed.

I agree.  I have said all along that I will believe this season when I see it.

It looks likely, however, that we will get at least one game in:  today.  Even that much will be a much needed morale boost for the players and coaches, I am sure.  But I have doubts about the sustainability of the season.

As it turns out, it would have been better to move the season earlier instead of moving it later.  Starting the season during the upswing of the worst wave yet does not bode well for an orderly progression.
