Looking like a 4 hour plus game. Big-12 special. Hopefully it ends by kickoff. I doubt it.
I don't think anyone predicted a 45-31 game with 9 minutes left to go in the 3rd. They just keep scoring, which leads to more and more and more commercial breaks. Insane. I bet TV advertisers LOVE the Big 12.
Tackling is optional in this game. Now 52-31. They score every two minutes. It’s absurd. ((And at some point you reduce the breaks).
Edit: 66-31. 3d quarter has gone an hour. Still :58 seconds left. I have never seen such poor tackling in a college football game.
If you watch some of the lower tier Big12 or SEC games you will see this is par for the course with COVID19.
The NFL tackling is off, but those are professionals working at a facility focused on football.
The NCAAF tackling is off too. It was challenging to be a student-athlete pre-COVID, but a number of things make everything harder with COVID-19.
FWIW - This offensive show is what happens in Pac-12 After Dark all the time. The mid to low tier teams in the Pac-12 have games like this all of the time that end close to midnight.
Stanford has not seen that because Stanford has been an upper tier Pac-12 team and has a coach that is not slinging the ball all over the place with 3 incomplete passes and a punt or 3 completions and a TD. Those 70-56 type games look funny and quirky in the set of scores the next morning, but they are brutal to watch when After Dark starts to become pre-dawn.
