To be honest, one of the most satisfying things to watch in the 2009 - 2015 era was Stanford get the ball in the fourth quarter with a one-score lead and and not relinquish the ball to the other team.  We'd run a 10+ play drive that chewed up 5+ minutes and ended with us taking a knee.  This was a nice reminder of those days.

Indeed it was. However, to see more of that we are going to need a better defense. We are too thin in too many places and have no margin for error on defense. To be realistic, UW stopped themselves a couple of times. That's fine when it happens, but it doesn't always happen.
