That might be more of an indictment if we had gone 1-4 (or even 2-3).  Alas, we have a winning record.  We beat the Pac-12 North champion on the road. We got the axe back.  I mean, third place in the Pac-12 North is not worthy of popping campaign corks or anything, but it's a bit better than "avoiding an 0-5 season".
