I have no problem with fanaticism. I just would never presume to know more about football decisionmaking than any D1 coach, let alone the most successful one in Stanford history.
Having played the sport, I know that on the chalk board every offensive play leads to a TD. However, rarely do the 11 players on the field execute the play as scripted. One missed block and a TD run becomes a TFL. Same goes on defense.
That being said, you have every right to be a hindsight head coach, just as I have every right to identify your assumed title.
