Ralston's two Rose Bowl teams were very different.
The Plunkett team was Plunkett-focused, deep-ball driven, much like a Sid Gilliam offense. Plunk was a very effective runner if the throw wasn't there.
The Bunce team didn't have much on offense, other than the sublime John Winesberry, but had , Lazetich and the Thunder Chickens, Jeff Siemon, and very good defensive backs. Maybe the best Stanford defense ever, ~12 points allowed per game.
