And yet college sports is proceeding as if nothing is amiss, going so far as to avoid jurisdictions with inconvenient public health restrictions. For goodness sakes, put the season on pause and resume it in April or May when we don't have 125,000 Americans hospitalized and our most vulnerable have been vaccinated.

How about everybody in the state stay locked in their rooms and don't come out until LA County gets its $hit together?
Zero cases. In all the major sports at Stanford. That's remarkable (though I don't see how that holds).
There are cases of Covid or contact with Covid among the WBB coaching staff and support staff.
I don't have a big problem with some limited sports going on. Although this is a major tragedy, there will be ongoing tragedies in the future. Life cannot come to a complete stop with every horrible event. Humans need some entertainment outlets even when things are terrible. This is safer than many other options.
