it is also worth noting Peat tweeted last week he is up to 313 lbs.
Quote:When David Shaw took over for Jim Harbaugh as head coach of the Stanford football program, there were those that wondered if the Cardinal were going to take a dip in play. Shaw answered naysayers by leading Stanford to the Fiesta Bowl. He then signed the top class in school history.
The concentration for the 2012 recruiting class was along the offensive line. Stanford signed five four-star offensive line recruits as well as two three-star guards. Stanford now has to make room for this impressive class.
The Cardinal need to replace two stalwarts in Jonathan Martin and David DeCastro. An opportunity to start may present itself to one of these true freshmen as a result.
"The guy who seems to have the best shot is Andrus Peat for the vacated left tackle spot although fellow newcomer Kyle Murphy also is very gifted," Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com wrote. "People up there rave about the group of incoming O-linemen, especially Peat. If he or Murphy is to win Martin's old spot, they'll have to beat out Brendon Austin and probably David Yankey too."
