Well sure Yvonne, but the NACDA is probably not the result oriented goal for the SEC.
The Pac-12 competes in several sports that are not in the South. Water Polo & Volleyball come to mind.
The BigTen gets easy points in several sports that are not in the South too. M & W Ice hockey come to mind.
The ACC & BigEast get easy points in lacrosse and field hockey. So other conferences are picking up too many points in regional sports that bump them up the standings.
But in sports that are played nationwide and/or can be played in the South, the SEC has become much stronger.
Tennis, swimming, track, baseball, basketball, football and softball are all nationally sports that are played in most regions of the USA, and in those sports the SEC is stronger now than it was 10 years ago.
This is not to say the Pac-12 (Stanford) can't win the NACDA race. Too many Pac-12 teams get points in Cali-only sports to fear SEC teams in that game. Still the SEC is doing a much better job at picking up NCAA Team Titles.
And it is this year's annual NCAA team title tally that is proof of the concept:Â Pac-12 - 8 NCAA titles, SEC - 8 NCAA + BCS
If you look at the SEC's 8 + BCS it is hard to argue that one would trade for the Pac-12's 8. 10-20 years ago the Pac-10 would routinely dominate the conference crown for NCAA team titles. That has changed, and money and AD investments in the SEC are part of that change.
