Why would you wonder what the answer to that question is? Undoubtedly it would be no. But luckily that's not reality. Do you have any other straw men to discuss?
It sounds like you would prefer a program that consistently wins 50-60% of its games without reaching great heights but avoids falling into the gutter to a program that has exceptional highs and lows. Seems like a matter of taste. But in the long run, more people will remember Stanford's run of greatness with Toby and Luck than will remember Virginia's consistent above average. And I think that's more to build on for the future.
