Also, what if Stanford hadn't declined to participate in a bowl game? We would have gotten 45 points had we won (presuming we stayed unranked), and 25 points had we lost the bowl game.
45 points would have made it interesting.
Never mind, football is not a mandatory counting sport. So the answer is it would not have made a difference.
