I think this was inevitable given various state laws coming into force (triggered by California's), and the message that the US Supreme Court's recent ruling on educational benefits sent. No, the decision had nothing to do with NIL rules, but the unanimous ruling sent a very strong signal that the NCAA was going to be challenged on amateurism rules.
