I spent 21 years in a career that I cared deeply about while raising three young children. It was extremely rewarding but all encompassing. It entailed running high energy, disciplined workouts, recruiting all over the country, traveling, competitions and facilitating team retreats.

As the years wore on I was beginning to breakdown. The hours, the intensity, the highs, the lows and the needs of this generation took its toll. Each year made it harder and harder to find that balance - that sweet spot where you know you're thriving not just surviving, living your best life, giving everything that you have and also getting filled up in return. With the illness of my mother and my children aging I began to feel the strain.

And then everything changed and I had to let go - this was painful. In 2015, I lost my mom after a tough battle with lung cancer. In 2017, I left my job, and then months later I lost my dad to cancer. Through these losses I found strength and resilience. I was able to breathe again and heal. I was able to be present. I was able to find joy and gratitude and I was given the gift of time.
