Stanford nowhere to be seen, not even in "also receiving votes," so not even in the top 44.
Of note,
Notre Dame #9
Oregon #11
USC #15
Washington #20
Utah #24
Arizona State #25
Also receiving votes UCLA (#44)
Some thoughts...
#1) It feels like this is how they rank teams *every* year. It's like, they don't know anything about the Pac-12, they know some teams will end up "pretty good" so they sprinkle some teams in.
#2) What I agree with is that there should be a lot of teams in the back half, reflecting the parity in the conference.
#3) Of course Stanford catches all the (pre-season) top-ranked teams in the South, so they play 12 Power 5 opponents and 6 pre-season ranked opponents.
What's the big deal? This is NOT a top-25 team. No way, no how. Top 45 maybe. And Austin Jones is losing weight. I'm preparing for one of those seasons when, in November, everybody is "Hey, it's the Big Game. It's our bowl game, man!"
Life is too short to waste on crap football.
