I don't think that really accounts for the downfall of the team. Fact is, the then-Pac-10 had the most one-and-done players precisely when we were still strong, thanks to the Lopez twins. After the Sweet Sixteen, both the conference and the Cardinal decreased markedly in quality. How many one-and-done players did we face last year? Not terribly many. Certainly not enough to explain the doldrums.
