Next game, next man up. The ASU game was forgettable to say the least. But the Card has an extra day off this week before playing up in Pullman. I’m also glad to get the Cougs in mid-October as it may not be quite as cold and rainy as some games up there.
Still a lot of guys out with injury/COVID, so the team again will be stretched thin and relying on younger players, but not much the team can do about that except say next man up. Stanford still has the more talented roster. WSU’s first string QB has recovered from his knee injury, but I suspect WSU will have it’s share of guys “working through some issues,” just like Stanford has. Even at full health, WSU was not predicted to cause much trouble for teams this year, and the home loss to Utah State supported those predictions.
The bigger issues for the WSU team are non-football related. Their head coach remains unvaccinated AFAIK, and one of their non-core players was seriously injured in a shooting earlier in the season. Those are some big distractions. Here’s an article on their not-too-bright head coach: https://www.cougcenter.com/2021/10/7/227...ions-cause. I hope the WSU team doesn’t infect any Stanford players during the game!
After WSU and the bye, hopefully the team will be a bit closer to full health when it hosts UW.

When I registered here in 2014, TrumpCard seemed like an apolitical user ID...
