This is dead on. I remember when the basketball team started surging to the top of the rankings in the late 90s and early 00s. My friend and I had a conversation about that very thing -- for the first time in our memories, the talent gap was so wide that there were some games that those teams couldn't lose. They'd be up by twenty or thirty in the first half, and then cruise. Earlier teams, even the Final Four team in 98, couldn't claim that.

I remember last season actually getting bored during the first seven games as I looked forwarded to USC and Oregon. There won't be any boredom this year.
