Terrence Stephens is absolutely good enough to be an every down NT. If he wasn't, Stanford wouldn't have had the #3 Rush Defense in the country in 2011. He more than adequately replaced Sione Fua. No, Stephens may not be a first or second round draft pick, but he does what he needs to do for Stanford's defense.
And, I would guess the four headed ILB monster Stanford is going to have in 2012, is going to make Stephens' job easier in 2012 than 2011, and that doesn't consider how much Stephens might have improved from last season to this.
It could be argued Stephens was the MVP of the Stanford defense in 2011 that was #3 in FBS against the run, but he isn't an every down guy?Â
