Season ticket seats can be donated back to Stanford online until some interval before the game (2 hours? one day?--I don't know); those donations are eligible for charitable deduction on taxes if one itemizes. Presumably Stanford can re-sell those seats, but I suspect the late demand for those seats is not great.
