Regarding the woke thing, I lived on campus during 2019 / 2020 and now live a mile away. I may nevertheless be out of touch, but I didn't see many signs of "woke" things. Not too many BLM signs, for example. I don't get that impression from faculty, but then again I'm not hanging out with students. In any case, my suspicion is that the woke thing is blown up in the media far more than it actually exists. I'm guessing whatever impression of Stanford people have in Texas is disconnected from reality to some significant degree.
