Used to love basketball but don’t even watch anymore because the best players take an Uber away after their last freshman game. The NCAA and ESPN are in a collusion that has changed the spirit of football and I just DGAS anymore. The NFL has a perfect minor league system and they don’t have to pay for it.
I drew away from College hoops awhile ago. I just think the quality of play has dropped. Not the athleticism. The play.
The one and done has hurt College hoops imo badly. Let kids go straight from high school to NBA or it’s development league. Go to a baseball rule, can’t be drafted until after sophomore season (I know it’s junior year in baseball). That will improve the game a bit. Maybe.
I’d also move the 3 pt line to NBA line. That would improve spacing and open the floor up a bit. The court is squeezed in half court offenses.
Finally, change the emphasis on charge-block. I agree with Jay Bilas - NCAA refs hand out charging calls like Halloween candy. It’s awful. Default should be a block call. I particularly dislike seeing a post player “defend” a penetrating guard by standing with his arms at his side waiting to “take the charge”. Get up and challenge the shot and if you send the guy sprawling so be it. Your job is to intimidate. Not stand there to get run over and leave it up to the Zebras.
