On players not valuing "lesser" bowl games like the Rose Bowl when it isn't part of the CFP. When there is not much to lose by playing, playing isn't a big deal. I feel confident saying that if Desmond Howard was a projected Top 10 pick in 2022, and his team was playing in a non-playoff bowl game, he too wouldn't be playing in it. One can love doing something but not want to do it until getting paid for it, especially when doing it for free puts one at risk for not being paid for it in the future.
