Given who we lost after 1992, anyone who picked us to finish near the top of the conference was smoking something, at least IMO. What I recall was most people thinking it was going to be a rebuilding year.

But I guess that there may have been enough people out there who thought Bill Walsh was such a miracle worker he could take just about anyone and win with them.
