Getting back to Austin Jones and USC - he now has some competition for PT from Travis Dye, who is transferring in from Oregon. Can I coin a new phrase: "transferred over"???

I think you just did. Ouch! What is the protocol? Can Jones take back his commit to U$C and look elsewhere? Is there any formal document signed at this point or is it all a "gentleman's agreement"? Do you "exit" the portal when you commit?

On transfers you appear to be able to change your mind until you actually enroll, 

Transfers don't sign any paperwork that binds them to the school they choose, though, and because Gabriel hasn't enrolled at UCLA, he is able to change his decision.

I assume (but don't know) that it is the same for a school, they can decide they aren't taking you until you have actually enrolled
