Both interviews really interesting, revealing. (And I found our Stanford players much more polished, better interview subjects, that the two women doing the interviews!) Yes, the Hull's comments re women coaches intriguing, but also their comments about their teammates AND their other fellow Stanford students -- that there is so much talent there, that these are all outstanding people in a wide range of fields, and being surrounded by such is one of the attractions of Stanford for them. In other words, if you're academically inclined and/or have interests beyond your sport, Stanford is a special place and has much to offer. Cam implicitly made a similar comment when she said that she really likes school, one of the reasons she chose Stanford, and she's excited to get back into the classroom this year, to be able to interact with her professors in person.
Another comment that struck me, more basketball specific. Cam's comment that because of her awareness of and concern with her fouling, she tends to be cautious and tentative at the beginning of games, thus taking her a while to become comfortable in a game.
