Even if Muir could be magically hypnotized into firing underperforming coaches, I have no confidence that he would be able to hire good replacements. I know he has made some good hires in other sports, but I don’t believe there is much translatability between even hiring a good baseball coach and hiring coaches in the two highest profile sports in the NCAA.
If Muir is replaced, it makes other personnel changes more likely, and it gives me more confidence that those transitions will be handled better.
