Thread drift is par for the course here, so don’t worry about it. Feel free to start a new thread when it is warranted.  While you are generally encouraged to check if someone has a thread on the same topic, once something has scrolled off the front page, there is no expectation that you find an old one. Threads can be merged if they are on the same topic (for example, if two people report on the same bit of big news simultaneously).

The only real rule is don’t be a jerk (not worried about that) and don’t make overtly political posts (the current one on Ukraine is a rare exception).  I’m glad you are here; detailed, well reasoned analysis is always welcome!
