So you're OK with revoking scholarships to stay under the 85 player limit? Because with 20+/year you'd have to do that. Sorry, not interested. I think if you offer someone a scholarship, you are making a commitment (unless there are extenuating circumstances like academic performance, violations of team rules, etc.).
We have asked non-productive 4th year seniors, who are graduating but have one more year of eligibility, to not come back every single year. I am perfectly ok with that, and I believe that is all that we'd need to (continue to) do.
We have NEVER had to revoke scholarships for underclassmen, and I don't expect we would have to. Enough guys will grad transfer for PT, retire altogether, or declare for the NFL that 85 is maintainable.
