OK, I stumbled across the david shaw press conference on twitter --  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nock7ht5x4g

1. Over the summer I had forgotten that David Shaw kicks ass. Watching this press conference was deep and inspiring. that man's head is screwed on. unlimited talk about substantive, lasting concepts, not empty football cliches. 

2. I had not fully realized it.  David Shaw has kissed the blarney stone. That man can motormouth without stop for long periods of time with those unlimited coaching observations. When does he breathe?

... mentions that he played under bill walsh, and then immediately zings himself for "that's just name dropping."  *&#% love it.
