Agreed, you can't give too much credit to a coach for choosing the only obvious option to survive.  It was nice that the Air Costello offense was so effective though.  "Jump ball" JJAW earned an NFL contract and gave Costello a shot at the SEC/MSU history books.  Those early injuries might have been preventable if there hadn't been a multiyear debacle in the athletic training staff.  Turley's presence would have helped too if he had been around.

I remember in the first game in 2018 against San Diego State we spent the first half unsuccessfully trying to run the ball against an Aztec defense that sold out to stop it. The second half Costello started throwing to JJAW and we ended up winning 31-7.
