Riley had some tough luck in S.D.; he goes 8-8 year 1 with Harbaugh at QB.. they then go with Ryan Leaf and go 1-15.  Don't know if that was a management call or not.  In his 3rd year it's Doug Flutie with Brees behind him and they go 5-11.  After
that LT showed up and they took off.  Incidentally some of Riley's staff were Geep Chryst and Mike Sanford..
