No one that can contribute even marginally on the field should be redshirted. The odds of someone staying at one school for 5 years in todays world is slim.  And the odds of a 5th year that does stick around being a significant upgrade over a freshman or sophomore is slimmer still.  If recruiting correctly. The one exception, perhaps, being offensive lineman.

I’m not saying 5th years have no value.  Just that there is no value in redshirting anymore.

Looking back to the end of last season, which seniors would you've welcomed back for another year??
