We are going through a period of a lot of change in collegiate athletics. A lot of possible scenarios in the mid-term, one of which is that Stanford, possibly with a few other schools, decides to get off the treadmill.
A few years ago, I’d have been very upset by that outcome, but right now, there’s a decent chance that the outcome that involves collegiate sports being a semi-sanctioned professional minor league is worse.
