Right now there are a few 1AA schools with better football than Stanford. Problem is there are not too many on the Pacific Coast. A football move into 1AA independence would, at this time, make for better competition for Stanford. Big loss of TV money would probably mean a dumping of non revenue sports.

Unless Stanford is invited into the Big 20 it's a loss/loss situation to continue playing football.

I don't see how the Domers can stay independent and continue to be relevant.

The Domers can join the West Catholic Athletic League and add to their non-conference schedule California Youth Authority and San Quentin.
