Before last season, Stanford's over/under for wins was 3.5, as chronicled in this thread. The over was looking great after Stanford's third win in Week 5 against Oregon, but everyone knows the rest of the story.
This season, according to the same source (DraftKings), Vegas' over/under is 4.5.
Meanwhile, most people agree that Stanford figures to have the strongest schedule in the Pac-12. There is one sure win, maybe ~2-3 toss-ups, and a bunch of games we seem very likely to lose. I guess Vegas values clarity at the QB position quite a bit and is counting on Stanford to pull off at least a couple upsets.
It would be a pleasant surprise for me if we win four or five games. I guess this means that I'd take the under, although I'd rather avoid this bet altogether. If we're going to exceed expectations, the OL needs to gel and we need to be able to stop the run at least once in a while. The latter seems pretty unlikely to me.
Your call - over or under 4.5 wins?
