She probably had to decide whether to try to qualify for the Amateur or play in the Open. She got an exemption into the Open by being the #1 ranked amateur in the world. I think she made the right choice. This is the third LPGA major (of five) she's played this year. Amazing.

The Stanford players I see at the US Am are Ganne, Heck and Seay. No Zhang, nor Englemann, nor Sturdza, nor Ye. [aside, shows the incredible strength of the program that I am a little surprised to not find 7 Cardinal golfers in the world's most prestigious amateur tournament]

My guess is Englemann & Ye didn't qualify. I believe Sturdza is spending the summer at home in Switzerland so didn't try to.
