It was not "2-1 with wins over Oregon and USC." Please don't misremember. We were 2-1 with wins over USC (yay!) and Vanderbilt (table stakes).

The Oregon game was our 5th, putting us at 3-2 after getting completely pushed up and down the field by UCLA...which, to be fair, we thought would be replicated vs. Oregon (and then actually was replicated against ASU the next week).
