Quote:I think the football team will probably beat Oregon. Yes, the Oregon offense is explosive, but they punted 11 times against We just played a spread team away and the defense should be ready. On the other hand, I don\'t think oregon can stop our power run game. In conclusion, I would not be the least bit surprised if the football team beats Oregon.
So your conclusive evidence that Stanford will win, is Stanford\'s played a 1-3 spread team (ND), so Stanford will be ready for Oregon? Wow. Oregon is so much faster than anyone Stanford\'s played so far. Plus it\'s not the same spread offense.
As far as a power running game, Oregon can hang, it\'s not easy for oregon, but they made the early adjustments against UT\'s power running, and shut them out the rest of the game.
Stanford\'s best chance to beat Oregon is in the passing game. Luck will have plenty of opportunities to make plays, especially over the middle. If ASU\'s line contained Oregon\'s blitzes a little better, ASU could have pulled out the win. If Luck catches Oregon in a blitz and checks down to the guy going over the middle, it\'ll gash Oregon\'s D all night long.
Easier said than done, but that\'s Oregon\'s weakness, not against the power running game.
Of course they can just fake injuries like ASU and UT did to try and slow the Offense. It doesn\'t work, but they can try! :)
It\'s going to be a good game, no doubt!
Go Ducks!
