This is my view too but he's muffed men's basketball, alumni goodwill, and the integrity of the school too. Varsity Blues could have been enough on its own. Football is actually a bit down the list of reasons to fire him as those failures fall on Shaw's shoulders and are harder to address if you're in Muir's shoes than some of the other failings. But the real point is he's failed in most ways that matter.
Add to this his complete financial mismanagement of the department, spending like a drunken sailor as if conference revenues from the network were going to grow when they were collapsing
Also, Varsity Blues ***SHOULD*** have been enough on its own
