I think it's the blocking schemes on those particular plays that are disastrous. Straight ahead doesn't work so well when the opposing DL matches your OL for strength and intensity. Try gaining numbers at the point of attack...pull a trap, counter, toss, sweep, etc., but stop with the Civil War-esque A/B-gap dives...
Sure DeCastro was a pulling guard non pareil, but don't tell me there's no one who can run those plays on this team.
