News from the LPGA side
This week is the LPGA's final tournament of the season before their "playoff" tournament called the Race to the CME Globe. Three Stanford alums are playing this week: Andrea Lee (ranked 14), Albane Valenzuela (ranked 67) and Aline Krauter is playing in her second LPGA tournament as a professional.
Lee is a lock for the playoffs, while Valenzuela would need at least a top 10 finish to make the cut (top 60).
Next week Krauter will tee it up at Stage 2 (of 3) for LPGA qualifying. The top 30 will move on to the final stage while the rest of the players will join the Epson Tour (equivalent of the Korn-Ferry Tour for the men).
