Here's a novel thought - bringing in more talent via the transfer portal won't really do much to move the needle unless there are major changes in the coaching staff. It's pretty clear that the program has a MAJOR player development problem. So we just bring in even more new players for our weak coaching staff to fail to develop?

Don't get me wrong - we need a better plan for the portal and NIL. But a) we don't have a plan for either yet, just talk about having a plan, and b) that plan isn't going to have a big impact without better coaches.

Correct.  Until the coaching improves, the quality and number of the players do not move the needle. The current coaching staff has managed to make 4-star players perform like 3-star players; and the team as a whole is inevitably less than the sum of the parts.

How to use the portal and NIL to our advantage will be vital.  But even a winning approach in this area will bear no fruit if we have the same subpar coaches in place.
