As an update to my earlier analysis on plus/minus:
Nivar: 22 minutes +27
Lepolo: 19 minutes +5
(Nivar also had an Eff score of 15 to Lepolo's 5)
The continuing disparity is looking less and less flukish.
Also, Brink only played 21 minutes, which was, of course, due in part to foul trouble. (She likely would have played at least 26 minutes had the game been closer.) But, what's notable is that Brink was again her booster rocket self. In her 21 minutes Brink had an Efficiency score of 23, only 1 less than Caitlin Clark's 24 EFF yesterday, despite Clark's 35 points and 10 assists (in 39 minutes) vs Indiana.
And as an update to my earlier Stanford records analysis:
Brink set a new single season blocks record last night and is now up to 271 career blocks. I had forecast that she would break the Stanford career blocks record at home vs USC. But she's now only 2 blocks away from Jayne Appel's record of 273. Odds are goods she'll set the record vs Arizona State (unless Tara decides to really limit her minutes).
Hannah's made 3s have fallen off a bit (from a season average of 3.1 to 2.9 per game). She now has 259 career made 3s.
There are only 3 players ahead of her:
1. 311 Kiana Williams 2017-21
2. 295 Candice Wiggins 2004-08
3. 268 Jeanette Pohlen 2007-11
We have 5 games left for the regular season. Our postseason will be a minimum of 2 and maximum of 9 games.
If we play the full 9 postseason games and Jump averages three made 3s per game that would get her to 301. So I would say that 1) it is highly likely that she will pass Pohlen during the regulation season, 2) it is more likely than not she will pass Wiggins in the postseason, and 3) passing Williams remains a stretch (but not impossible).
