And did anyone else think that Hogan got the quick hook? There were a couple of plays in a row, then the sack and "YANK." Really? Was he causing more harm than Nunes? The guys on the radio were hoping that Nunes was done for the day. Husak hates him.
The boos have got to go. Nunes is 5-0 at home. Coach Shaw is 17-4 in his career. The jokers that are so inclined to boo have lost all perspective at this point. These kids are winning and studying at Stanford. The game is not entertaining enough? Stay home and watch ole mighty SC. They are plenty entertaining, but with all of their talent they have 2 conferences losses. Or perhaps Oklahoma and its flashy 2 losses at home.
Is Nunes the best QB in the USA? Clearly no. Does any QB in the USA have a better winning percentage in front of his fans at home? Definitely no. Nunes is not Barks or Luck let's deal with it with a touch more class.
The team was playing a classic trap game. Only a fool (ie. Wilner) would actually have thought they would cover a 21 point spread. The team won and few people got hurt. Stanford still controls its destiny for the Rose Bowl, and is likely now the most likely to get a BCS at-large from the Pac-12 should they fall to Oregon. Comparatively speaking Stanford did just fine.
Booo? I guess those types were warming up for Halloween, but by all historic standards this TEAM is doing just fine. FWIW - Better than the 1992 team that was honored throughout the game.
The team is likely to have three losses by year-end. A loss to BCS CG worthy Oregon, a loss to BCS CG worthy Notre Dame and a road loss for Nunes first trip away from home. the same team that beat OSU by the way. That's boo worthy? Wow!!!
