How about just going independent and play just the California schools and then a rotation of the top academic schools in D-1 FBS? How are non-conference TV revenues shared?
which CA schools?
- UC Davis
- Sac State
- SJSU
- SDSU
- Fresno State
- USC - would they be interested?
- UCLA - would they be interested?
- Cal
- others?
which "top academic school"? How many would be interested especially if it means one less home game for them?
- Ivy league schools?
- Northwestern
- Vanderbilt
- Duke
- Notre Dame

- Michigan

My concern about going "independent" or being part of some lesser league is that the revenue stream from FB and BB is likely to decline significantly. Is the University going to be willing to cough up funds from other sources to keep our broad spectrum of Men's and Women's teams going?
