Haase is a good guy, people like him (including presumably his players) and none of his players (at least as far as I know) have got into academic or disciplinary problems.
His records haven't been good, but not bad enough to embarrass the university.
Perhaps that's all it takes to keep your coaching job at Stanford these days.

MTL might disagree that you get fired if you embarrass the university while overseeing disastrous Football and Basketball programs.
