Good map showing jurisdictions. The picture in the article shows the proximity to the trees and creek. They really aren't that hard to reach. That is an obviously flawed assertion. Ironically, the activity on the Santa Clara side of the creek slightly up Alpine Road is a tree farm! FWIW, when Stanford does cut anything in the area, they generally do not haul away the pieces. They leave it on the creek bank. This makes it lots cheaper for them because they don't have to pay for disposal. Arguably, it is more "natural", although in some cases it is also pretty ugly.
