As someone who wonders about the growth of admin in the athletic dept, I found the discussion re growth at Stanford Med interesting. And, when you take a look at the new med buildings, and personnel growth, and reputation to be preserved, it's understandable. Desirable? Dunno, though I do think the US needs as much medical expertise as it can get.
