FWLIW, my brother and I attended a game at the Big House (UMich vs. Oregon State -- he's a Beaver), and we were decked out in Beaver gear. The UMich fans couldn't have been more nice and more welcoming at the dozen or so tailgates that we attended. They did, however, assure me that the gameday experience would have been much, much worse in either Columbus or East Lansing...
I thought the Domer fans in South Bend were extremely friendly and courteous.
Several posters here have commented about the walk past Kal's fraternity row to their stadium, as an opposite example.
